PHILOSOPHY:

Nursing is a profession within the Health Care Sector focused on the care of individuals, families and communities so they may attain maintain or recover

optimal health and quality of life.

Nurses care for individuals of all ages and all cultural backgrounds who are healthy and ill in a holistic manner based on the individuals physical, emotional, psychological, intellectual, social and spiritual needs. The

profession combines physical sciences, social science and technology in caring for those individuals.

PURPOSE:

The basic Diploma course in General Nursing and Midwifery is geared to the health needs of the individuals, family, community and the country at large.

AIIM:

    The aims of the Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery programme are:

  • To prepare nurses with a sound educational programme in nursing to   enable   them to function as efficient members of the health team, beginning with the competencies for first level positions in all kinds of health care settings.
  • To help nurses develop an ability to co-operate and co-ordinate with members of the health team in the prevention of disease, promotion of health and rehabilitation of the sick.
  • To help nurses in their personal and professional development, so that they are able to make maximum contribution to the society as useful and individuals, citizens as well as efficient nurses.

ELIGIBILITY:

  • 10+2 with any stream with English. Total Intake Seats 60.

  • The minimum age for admission shall be 17 years (as on 31st December of that years) the upper age limit is 35 Years.
  • The minimum education requirements shall be the passing of 12 years of schooling (10+2 year course) recognized by CBSE/ICSE/SSSCE/HSCE/NIOS or a recognizes equivalent examination.

NOTE:

  • Examination schedule is Yearly basis conducted by the Delhi Nursing Council, New Delhi & University, New Delhi.
  • Scholarship for SC/ST and OBC Students.
  • Education Loan Facility is Available.
